Pejabat Pengelola Informasi dan Dokumentasi (PPID) menjalankan tugas dan fungsi BAZNAS dalam hal pengelolaan informasi dan kearsipan.
Sebagaimana yang kita pahami bersama bahwa BAZNAS telah mendapatkan amanah dari pemerintah untuk melaksanakan amanah pengelolaan zakat secara nasional yang tertuang dalam Undang-undang nomor 23 tahun 2011 tentang zakat. Sebagai Badan Publik BAZNAS wajib menjalankan tugas dan fungsi sebagaimana termaktub dalam Undang-undang nomor 23 tahun 2011 dan juga memiliki kewajiban atas pelaksanaan Undang-undang nomor 43 tahun 2009 dan Undang-Undang nomor 14 tahun 2008 tentang keterbukaan informasi. Berdasar Undang-undang tersebut publik berhak tahu atas aktifitas yang dilakukan BAZNAS. Publik berhak mengetahui lebih banyak tentang zakat dan peran BAZNAS dalam pengelolaan zakat secara nasional.
